This week, Dan's sister's family was visiting before they head off to New Zealand for FIVE years. Jonathan is a civil engineer and was gracious enough to grade the building pad for our cottage. This little 900 square foot cottage will be a Vacation Rental, and our Brides Dressing Room when we have a wedding! It is in a craftsman style and will feature a full bathroom, small kitchen, open loft and lots if cool antique-ie barn stuff! Pictures to follow!

Recently (September 25), some friends decided we needed to have some updated wedding pics.  Photography by Charise and Bruce Barrios Mobile DJ helped me put together a mini photo shoot at the farms.  I'm sure it wasn't any incentive at all that I set up a wine tasting adventure the day before.  Mental note: next time do the wine tasting AFTER the photo shoot. Barbara grew up in the family nursery business.  At 12 years old she was cashier in the office.  Alongside her four other brothers and sister they learned botanical plant names, how to propagate and shift plants, and manage nursery stock.  When it was time to go to college, Barbara chose San Jose State University and majored in Marketing.  She came back to work in the family business and took over in 1995.  In 1999, she began marketing the newly installed gardens for weddings.  They went from having 2 weddings the first year, to 12 weddings the next, and 60 weddings per year every year after.   Dan grew up right up the street from Barbara and her family nursery.  Although…
